Set off with our new Travel Club

Kids (ages six to 12) can globetrot without a passport when they join our new Travel Club.

Each month, children will celebrate and learn about a new country with different activities, a craft and a snack. The first meeting of the Travel Club is 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, at our Main Branch.

The club is free to join. Sign up on our website or call our children’s department at 440-255-8811 ext. 3.

Need Tech Help?

Receiving a new tablet or smartphone for the holidays? Get the most from it!

We’re offering one-on-one tech help on the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 10, at our Main Branch. Registration is required. Schedule an appointment by calling the library at 440-255-8811 ext. 1. We can help with:

  • accessing library services (like ebooks, streaming music, and streaming video) with your device
  • using software like Word, Excel, or Zoom
  • figuring out your new phone or tablet.

We are unable to troubleshoot or fix malfunctioning devices, replace physical parts on devices, or participate in credit card transactions.

Please bring any device you need help with and have an idea of what you want to learn.

Also, everyone can learn about the our digital services during a program at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, at our Main Branch. Discover how to enjoy ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, streaming music and video, and online classes for free on smartphones, tablets or computers. Bring your device with you. This program is for anyone with a smartphone, iPad or other tablet. Register online or call us at 440-255-8811 ext. 1.

Makerspace Monday: Art T-Shirt

Artist Deb Steytler used the heat press at The HUB’s makerspace to press her sublimated artwork onto T-shirts! The makerspace also has a large-format printer, vinyl cutter, Cricut, green-screen studio, and more state-of-the-art tech that can be used with library staff supervision.

We’re launching a Cookbook Club

Enjoy good reading and good eating with our new Cookbook Club!

It combines a potluck and book club and will be led by local chef Ladonna Oltmanns. We get together once a month when each member prepares a recipe from the same cookbook to share.

The Cookbook Club’s first meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at our Main Branch. The featured cookbook will be Barefoot Contessa: Back to Basics by Ina Garten. Books are available to pick up at the reference desk of our Main Branch.

The club is free to join, and cooks of all skill levels are welcome. Registration is required. Sign up by calling our reference department at 440-255-8811 ext. 1.
