Join us for a cooking demonstration featuring plant-based recipes with LaDonna from “Let’s Cook!” mobile cooking school. For December, LaDonna will be making Zaalouk. Space is limited.

Board Game Saturdays @ Main

You are welcome to bring in your own games to play or use board games from our “Library of Things.” Adults and teens over age 16 are welcome to join the club and show up whenever you’re available as there are always games starting and ending to join in on the fun. Registration isn’t required; just show up and play! You are welcome to bring food and beverages (no snacks on the game tables, please.)

Meet Us in the Garden: Maple Syrup @ Main

Join us as we learn to make maple syrup using sap from your sugar maple trees. We will discuss selecting the tree, how to tap your tree, safely collecting the sap, the correct process for turning your sap into syrup, and how to store the syrup. We will also identify the correct and necessary materials. Space is limited. Registration is required and begins September 19. Presented by Master Gardener Volunteers of Lake County.

Starting April 1st (just in time for spring migration!), pick up a count list at the Headlands Branch to track how many types of bird you see. When you make it to 100, come back and pick up a small commemorative prize!
Challenge runs year-round, so turn in your count list whenever you finish. And if you hit 100, pick up another list when you’re done to find 100 more! Ohio has well over 200 species either as year-round residents or spring/fall migrants – so take advantage of how fortunate we are to live somewhere with such a variety of wildlife!
No registration required – open to all ages and skill levels!

The Thrills and Chills Teen Book Club features a mixture of fictional graphic novels and young adult novels for ages 14 to 18 in the ninth through twelfth grades. This list of books was chosen by our young patrons who have regularly attended the Headlands’ Thrills & Chills Book Club for the last year!
The YA novels may have spooky twists and turns as well as delve into the challenging lives of the teenage fictional characters.
This group will meet on the THIRD Monday of the month at Headlands Branch from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.. Registration is required.
