Enjoy celebrating Halloween by decorating some hauntingly good cookies! Compete with your friends to see who decorates the best cookie, and then eat your masterpiece.
Feel free to wear a costume.

Teens grades 7-12 have the opportunity to pick up a book at the Main Reference Desk and come to the monthly discussion to talk about the book. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. This month we will be discussing Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.

The rules are simple: pick up a list of drawing prompts (and a sketchbook if you don’t have one at home, while supplies last), and draw whatever comes to mind for one prompt each day for the whole month of October.
Miss a day or start late? No problem! Start anytime and draw as much or as little as you want. Inktober is more about creating a drawing habit than anything else, so set your own pace – no one’s judging!
And make sure to join us on November 6th at 6pm to show off your drawings and see what others have done with the prompts!

Drawn In To Graphic Novels Book Club @ Headlands

This unique book club features graphic novels for 12 to 17 year old patrons. Graphic novels are an engaging way to look at the past in an innovative way. This group will meet on the last Saturday of the month at Headlands Branch from 2 to 3 p.m. In addition to reading current graphic novels, attendees will be given a graphic novel journal and encouraged to write and share their own stories with the group.
Our October selection is Gris Grimly’s Frankenstein, or, the Modern Prometheus by Gris Grimly, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelly and Bernie Wrightson.

Join us at The HUB for a Spooktacular Halloween Craft! Learn how to make a Dragon Swamp Lantern using the Cricut Maker!
Each participant will receive one 16oz jar, Dragons decals, twine and fairy lights to complete this craft!

Don’t read your books – Listen to them instead! Not only can you download eBooks at MPL, but now you can also download Audiobooks. Audiobooks can now be loaded onto PCs, Macs®, MP3 players, and many other mobile devices directly from your computer at home.
Mentor Public Library has expanded its online services by adding “eAudiobooks,” available to download from the library’s Web site through a new service powered by OverDrive. The service is free to patrons with a Mentor Public Library card. Users will need to install OverDrive® Media Console™ a free software found on the library’s Web site.
