Join us every third Saturday for board gaming at the library! You are welcome to bring in your own games to play or use board games from our “Library of Things.” Adults and teens over age 16 are welcome to join the club and show up whenever you’re available as there are always games starting and ending to join in on the fun. Registration isn’t required; just show up and play! You are welcome to bring food and beverages (no snacks on the game tables, please.)

Teen Art Contest @ Main

Grades: 7-12
Teens entering grades 7-12 will be able to enter the Teen Art Contest in honor of our Summer Reading theme “Color Our World.” One entry per teen. Any medium of art is acceptable.
*Entries must align with the libraries code of conduct. Entering teens must fill out an entry form to be considered. Entries will be voted on by the public on our social media pages. Winners will be announced after summer reading ends and will receive a small prize.

SAT Practice Test with Huntington Learning Center @ Lake

Grades: Going into grades 10-12
Prepare for the SAT Test! Students will take a full length SAT practice test facilitated by Huntington Learning Center. Attendees should bring a calculator and arrive no later than 12:45pm. Test begins promptly at 1pm. Late students cannot be accommodated.
Student or parent contact information will be shared with Huntington Learning Center for the purpose of test results.
By registering for the test, you are also registering for the Score Report Night on June 12 at 6:30pm, where students and their parents will receive their scores. We will review the score analysis, learn how to improve, and explore further test prep skills.

Visit any branch of the library to pick up a reading log (and don’t forget your leaves!). Each prompt you read will grow a leaf on your tree. Can you get your tree to fully foliate before summer starts?

Thrills and Chills Teen Book Club @ Headlands

The Thrills and Chills Teen Book Club will feature a mixture of fictional graphic novels and young adult novels.
The graphic novel is an engaging genre which highlights not only the narrative but artistic expression as well. The YA novels may have spooky twists and turns as well as delve into the challenging lives of the teenage fictional characters.
This group will meet on the second to the last Monday of the month at Headlands Branch from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.. Registration is required.

Don’t read your books – Listen to them instead! Not only can you download eBooks at MPL, but now you can also download Audiobooks. Audiobooks can now be loaded onto PCs, Macs®, MP3 players, and many other mobile devices directly from your computer at home.
Mentor Public Library has expanded its online services by adding “eAudiobooks,” available to download from the library’s Web site through a new service powered by OverDrive. The service is free to patrons with a Mentor Public Library card. Users will need to install OverDrive® Media Console™ a free software found on the library’s Web site.
