Explore ‘Lost Ghost Stories of Cleveland’

Investigative historian William Krejci discusses his newest book, “Lost Ghost Stories from Cleveland.” He researched 31 ghost stories from Cuyahoga County’s past that haven’t been reported on in a decade. Discover:

  • how Krejci finds and researches century-old ghost stories
  • Krejci’s own ghost story from when he lived in the Franklin Castle
  • how Krejci’s mother taught him the basics of historical research.

Krejci is a local author who specializes in haunted history. He’s written Ghosts and Legends of Northeast Ohio, Haunted Put-in-Bay, and Buried Beneath Cleveland: Lost Cemeteries of Cuyahoga County.

Don’t stress if you’ve struggled to this point! Taking care of houseplants is difficult. As Susan reminds us, There’s no such thing as houseplants — only plants that we’ve moved indoors.

Dr. John Foster revisits one of the most harrowing and crucial episodes in World War II: the chase and sinking of the German battleship Bismarck.

Discover how the Bismarck sank the HMS Hood and how the British Royal Navy located and bombarded the largest battleship Germany ever built.

Finally, Foster will explain how the sinking of the Bismarck was — without either side realizing it — the end of an era in naval warfare.

In addition to being a reference librarian, Foster has a doctorate degree in history. He has taught history at both high school and college levels. Previously, he has led series on the Battles of World War IIthe Cold Warthe American RevolutionThe Vietnam Wars, and US Presidents of the 20th Century at the library.
