Cryptograms for Kids

Kids can solve puzzles and crack codes during a cryptogram program at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at our Main Branch.

Discover Cleveland’s Forgotten Football Champs

Discover the story behind Cleveland’s forgotten football champs — and what they had to do with a Hollywood starlet — during a program at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29, at our Main Branch.

Local historian Dennis Sutcliffe of Lost Cleveland Memories will revisit the autumn of 1945. Glamorous movie star Jane Russell had recently moved to Cleveland to be with her husband Bob Waterfield, star quarterback of the Cleveland Rams. Explore this oft-ignored moment in the city’s history.

MPL’s 1st Ever Jigsaw Puzzle Swap Day

Trade in used puzzles for something new to you during our first ever Jigsaw Puzzle Swap Day from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, at our Main Branch.

From Jan. 29 to Feb. 1, anyone can drop off used puzzles at the front desk of our Main Branch. The puzzles should be:

  • In good condition with no missing pieces
  • In their original boxes
  • At least 300 pieces

Donors will receive a ticket for each donated puzzle. The tickets can be redeemed for a new-to-you puzzle on our swap day! Any leftover puzzles will be donated to the library.

Frozen Sing-Along

Do you know a child who can’t let Let It Go go? Bring ’em to the library! We’re hosting a sing-along of the Disney classic Frozen at noon on Saturday, Jan. 27, at our Main Branch.

Popcorn will be provided, and families are welcome to bring their own snacks or lunch. Registration is required. Sign up online or by calling our Children’s Department at 440-255-8811 ext. 3.
