Discover the region’s crucial role in the Underground Railroad during a talk at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, at our Lake Branch.

Lake and its adjacent counties were dotted with havens for escaped slaves and often served as their final stops on their journeys to Canada. Tonya Busic from the Lake County History Center will share stories from the local paths, introduce some of the people involved, and discuss the laws that governed this perilous time in history.

Her talk is free to attend. Due to limited space, registration is required. Sign up online or call us at 440-257-2512.
