By |2020-11-16T16:00:26-05:00November 16, 2020|

What should you do if you have depression?

By |2020-02-17T06:00:06-05:00February 17, 2020|

Have you or a loved one experienced mood swings or angry outbursts? Are you not interested in things you once loved to do? When someone experiences loss, it is natural to be sad, but if these feelings impair your daily life, it could be an indication of depression.

Jennifer McClellan Johnson, an impairment prevention educator from the Cleveland Clinic, discussed risks, symptoms and treatment options of depression and seasonal affective disorder (SAD) when she visited our library earlier this month. Like any other disease, depression is treatable. Learn how you can understand your sadness and when to seek professional help!

By the way, the library has hundreds of books and videos on the subject of depression that you can borrow. That having been said, they may be informative and helpful; but they are not a substitute for professional help, if that’s what you need.
