Learn how Northeast Ohio got its Emerald Necklace with Judy MacKeigan, the historian and archivist for Cleveland Metroparks. She explains how the Metroparks blossomed in the 1920s, survived the Great Depression and World War II, and met the challenges of the 1950s. She also shares fascinating stories about William Stinchcomb, Fritzi Klopfenstein, and other people who helped the park district become what it is today. This talk will be available online until July 20.
MacKeigan is also the lead author and content editor on The Hundred Year Trail: A Centennial Celebration of Cleveland Metroparks. She’ll return to our Main Branch on June 29 to share the history of The Flats.
