By |2021-02-27T12:00:17-05:00February 27, 2021|

People who have dementia or Alzheimer’s disease often have habits or behaviors that can befuddle or frustrate their caretakers. For example, some people with dementia ask the same questions repeatedly

In this talk, experienced professionals from the Kemper House – a care facility that specializes in Alzheimer’s disease and dementia – share tactics that will help caretakers deal with repetitive questioning.

By the way, we’ve hosted other programs that can help families dealing with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. They are still available to watch on our YouTube channel.

Podiatrist talk helps you get back on your feet

By |2021-02-24T16:00:43-05:00February 24, 2021|

Dr. Andy Orta from Foot and Ankle Specialists of Ohio shares symptoms and treatment options for common foot and ankle problems – from bunions to bad breaks – during an online program we hosted earlier this week.

He discusses soft-tissue conditions, structural deformities, bone and joint conditions, trauma, and nail and skin disorders. Warts and all! The first few seconds of his talk are inadvertently clipped, but you’ll still get his expert insight.

By the way, a YouTube video can be helpful but it’s no substitute for medical consultation. If you have a problem that requires treatment, contact your doctor.

We’ve hosted several talks about health and wellness recently. You can watch many of them online in their entirety, including:

Discover Vincent van Gogh through the eyes of the artist

By |2021-02-17T16:00:24-05:00February 17, 2021|

Vincent van Gogh is one of the most famous artists in history. But his life is shrouded in rumors and tall tales.

Discover the true story of van Gogh’s passion and obsessions from art historian Felicia Zavarella Stadelman during this online program that we hosted in February.

By the way, if you’re an art lover, then you should check out some of the Book & Brush talks that we’ve shared on our YouTube channel. Our own Barb Hauer discusses post-Impressionists and celebrates women artists like Helen Dryden and Lee Miller.

Furthermore, if you’re looking for fun artistic projects that you can make at home, watch our Artpocalypse series. Each week, we suggest different crafts, artwork, and even science experiments that you can try.

Finally, if you’re interested in Van Gogh (or almost any other artist), we know a great place where you can borrow books or documentaries about him and his artwork.
