We’re encouraging everyone to explore the parks, trails and nature preserves in and around the Mentor Headlands with our Headlands Treasures Map! (Yes, treasures — plural.)
Anyone can pick up a map from our Headlands Branch. (Don’t forget to sign up for Summer Reading while you’re there.) It specifies six natural treasures to visit this summer, including Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve, Headlands Dunes State Nature Preserve, and trails in the Mentor Marsh.
Visit each park and check them off on the map. Explorers can also take a sketchbook and draw something interesting they see at each place, though it’s not required. Return the completed map to our Headlands Branch by Aug. 1 for a special prize. Everyone who completes the treasures hunt will be entered into a raffle to win a $25 gift card.
