We’re hosting a pair of programs for those wondering what to do after high school.

First, staff from the Lake/Geauga Educational Assistance Foundation (LEAF) will share options during the Gear Up For Your Future program at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at our Main Branch.

Students entering ninth through 12th grade can learn how to get the most out of their high-school experience and find a good fit for the future — whether it’s college, trade school, the military or other options. The program is free to attend. To register, sign up on our website or call us at 440-255-8811 ext. 1.

Next, the library will host an online author talk with former Stanford Admissions Officer Dr. Irena Smith at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15. Smith wrote the memoir The Golden Ticket: A Life in College Admissions Essays.

She’ll share constructive and healthy ways to approach the college-application process. Discover how to help teens define success on their terms instead of chasing an elusive “golden ticket.” Join the conversation here.
