Families can enjoy free online author interviews with popular and award-winning children’s and young-adult fiction writers this July!

The authors include:

  • Kate DiCamillo at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9. DiCamillo is best known for her Mercy Watson and Tales from Deckawoo Drive series. She’s written more than 30 books — several of which have been turned into movies. One was even adapted into an opera. This program is designed with children in pre-kindergarten through second grade in mind. However, all ages may enjoy it.
  • Max Brallier at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16. Brallier is the bestselling author of The Last Kids on Earth series. He’ll share how he came up with the different monsters and villains for his zombie-apocalypse epic, as well as the unique ways his protagonists defeated them. For kids in third through sixth grade.
  • Elizabeth Acevedo at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23. Acevedo won the National Book Award for her novel in verse, The Poet X. High schoolers can enjoy a short reading from her book, followed by a question-and-answer session. Learn the power of poetry!
  • Dan Santat at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30. Santat is the National Book Award winner for Young People’s Literature. He’ll inspire teens and tweens to tell their own stories through graphic novels. His newest book, A First Time for Everything, is a graphic-novel memoir based on his own awkward middle-school years and the trip to Europe that changed his life. For kids in fifth through eighth grade.
