Eighty-five percent of Ohio’s forests are privately owned, but owning woodlands comes with challenges including pests, disease and invasive plants.

Those who own wooded property can learn how to assess their forest’s health and receive advice on woodland stewardship during a free program at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, at our Main Branch.

Representatives from the Working Woods at Holden Forests & Gardens will provide guidance on where to begin when caring for your woods, including:

  • Judging the health of your woods
  • Setting goals for your forest that aligns with your values.

They’ll also provide resources to help property owners become better woodland stewards. The program is free to attend. Due to limited space, registration is required. Click here to sign up for the Caring for your Woods program or call us at 440-255-8811 ext. 1.
