We’re hosting a free screening of the 2014 film The Giver and book giveaway at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 10, at our Lake Branch!
The movie is inspired by Lois Lowry’s Newbery Medal-award winning novel. In it, a young man learns the truth about his totalitarian society from a mysterious figure known as The Giver. The movie stars Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, and Brenton Thwaites, along with Taylor Swift.
After the movie, we will also raffle off twelve copies of the graphic-novel version of The Giver — also inspired by Lowry’s book. You have to be there to win!
The movie is rated PG-13.
