You’ll use the laser engraver in The HUB’s makerspace to create acrylic shapes that you can string together. We’ll supply the acrylic, wood, fishing line, and laser engraver.

The program is free to attend and open to all adults. However, due to space limitations, we do require that you register beforehand. You can sign up by calling The HUB at 440-205-6011.

Kids used a laser engraver to personalize picture frames for Father’s Day gifts this week at The HUB.

They also used paint and markers to decorate them – a bit of classic craftiness to go with the laser show.

Kids used the laser engraver at The HUB’s makerspace to carve wooden toys that they decorated and assembled during a special program last month.

They made airplanes, horses, and even surprisingly adorable gastropods using 21st century technology.

We told you the gastropod was cute.

It was a lot of fun. But you haven’t missed the fun if you missed that program.

Families have a couple of opportunities to try out the laser engraver this month.

First, teens and tweens can use the engraver to design personalized accessories like necklaces, key chains and bookmarks at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, at The HUB. The program is free and open to all 12- to 18-year-olds.

Then, anyone can get an introduction to the laser engraver at either 4 or 6 p.m. on Monday, March 18. Get inspired for your next project and leave with an engraved souvenir.

Additionally, you can learn about the makerspace’s vinyl cutter, as well, at either 4 or 6 p.m. on the following Monday, March 25. Discover what you can create with the cutter and get your own vinyl souvenir.

All these programs are free to attend. However, we do ask that you register ahead of time. You can sign up online at our event calendar or call The HUB at 440-205-6011.
