Help these kittens find their fur-ever home

By |2021-06-27T06:00:08-04:00June 27, 2021|

Find your new furry family member during our Kitty Adoption Event on Saturday, July 10.

People can get a lot of cool things from the library, but you probably didn’t know that you could get a kitten here. And these fantastic felines aren’t for borrowing. They’re looking for their furever home.

We’ve teamed with Lake Humane Society to host a kitty adoption event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 10, at our Lake Branch. Several adorable kittens will be available for adoption. We’ll also have fun cat-themed games and activities for the kids.

No registration is required to come to our kitty adoption event. Hopefully, we’ll see you there!

Support Lake Humane Society during our Year of Giving

By |2019-05-31T06:00:14-04:00May 31, 2019|

WishListWe’re hosting donation drives all year as part of our 200th anniversary celebration.

In June, we’re collecting for Lake Humane Society & Adoption Center. Lake Humane is a managed intake shelter that helps abused, abandoned, neglected and unwanted pets in our community find the loving forever home they deserve.

Each year, more 1,200 pets enter Lake Humane Society’s care. Once they nurse them back to health and prepare them for adoption, their team works to match the pets with the home and family that best suits their needs.

You can support Lake Humane in their mission by donating items from their wish list at any of our branches. The list includes:

  • cat litter
  • dry cat food and dry dog food
  • canned cat and Pate kitten food
  • kitten milk replacement
  • cat toys, cat nip and cat treats
  • dog toys
  • small animal food for rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, ferrets, etc.
  • small animal bedding (paper only)
  • Timothy Hay and fresh greens
  • cleaning supplies
  • office supplies
  • and gift cards to pet supply stores, gas stations, Home Depot etc.

For more ways to help, you can visit Lake Humane Society & Adoption Center’s website.

Our Year of Giving continues all year. The calendar is:

July – Project Hope
October – Forbes House
