Making Fairy & Gnome Gardens in our Backyard

By |2021-07-21T09:15:36-04:00July 21, 2021|

Jonathan and Gabriel use clippings from the library’s garden and Story Book Walk to decorate their fairy gardens.

Kids used sticks, stones, flowers, and even moss from our backyard to make beautiful gnome and fairy gardens on Tuesday at our Main Branch.

They were so creative, using nature’s beauty to supplement the supplies we provided.

Our theme for Summer Reading this year is Imagine Your Story. So we’ve hosted programs about fairy tales, myths and magic all summer long.

By the way, Summer Reading is almost over! The last day to receive raffle tickets for all your hours/books read is at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1. Make sure you get credit for all the awesome reading that you’ve done this summer.

Fairies stretch out before a yoga session/story time at our Read House.

Fairies stretch out before a yoga session/story time at our Read House.

Kids had a fun, fairy-themed story time/yoga session with yoga instructor Darlene Kelbach and our own Ms. Lisa on Tuesday at our Read House.

They learned some yoga poses and used them to help Ms. Lisa tell the story of A Fairy Friend.

We also made a craft. The children created their own fairy friends that they could take home with them.

Visit our Facebook page for more photos from our Fairy Yoga program.
