You can read away up to $10 in library fines during Saturdays this September at Mentor Public Library

To celebrate our 200th anniversary, you can read away the fines on your Mentor Public Library card on Saturdays this September.

Every Saturday this upcoming month, you can read at one of our branches. One dollar of your fines will be waived for every half hour you read. You can have up to $10 in fines forgiven this way this September.

To participate, you will need to pick up a Read Away Your Fines slip from the circulation desk when you arrive at the branch, and return it filled out when you have finished reading.

One exception: bills accrued from lost items and referral fees cannot be waived as part of this promotion.

You may have noticed the gorgeous new quilt hanging in our Main Branch.

Story Hour was a gift to Mentor Public Library for our 200th anniversary. Sharon Kovach designed it and did the artwork. Diane Wantz (our Trustee Board President) quilted and finished it.

We’re fortunate to have such talented and generous friends!

Happy 200th Anniversary to Mentor Public Library!

By |2019-07-15T06:00:18-04:00July 15, 2019|

Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate 200 years of being your community library!

Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate 200 years of being your community library!

We like to thank the hundreds of you who came to our 200th Anniversary Party on Friday.

Gail Christofferson of Animal House Glass helped us made a community mosaic of Mentor Marsh that will soon hang in our Main Branch.

Also, Tom Todd, the Amazing One Man Band, serenaded us on our Main Branch lawn.

We hope you all had as much fun as we did. Thanks for joining us and here’s to several centuries more of being your community library!

And, yes, by the way, we are 200 years old. (We look good for our age.) We’re celebrating all year long with donation drives, programs that celebrate local history, and (of course) reading! Get all the details here.
