Every year is a busy one at Mentor Public Library, but a lot happened this year.
1. First of all, we observed our 200th anniversary. The best birthday gift is to give, so we celebrated by collecting donations for a lot of valuable nonprofits like Project Hope, Forbes House, and Can Your Fines.
You also helped us commemorate our bicentennial by making the community mosaic that now hangs in our Main Branch.
2.We’ve expanded our Library of Things, so you can now borrow light therapy lamps from us. This is in addition to items like mobile wifi hotspots, traffic cones, and ukuleles that we lend. Keep an eye on our Library of Things, because it will continue to grow in 2020.
4. If you like Hoopla and Kanopy, you should check out RBDigital. It lets you watch The Great Courses lectures, the best of British television, concert films, telenovelas, and more for free with your library card.
6. We hosted our Mentor Mystery Month this October. Authors including James Badal, Vivien Chien, DM Pulley, Brad Ricca, Jane Ann Turzillo, and more visited us to discuss their mystery and true-crime books.
7. Finally, thanks to a new partnership with Holden Forests & Gardens, you can now borrow some of the spectacular gardening, horticulture, environmental and botany books from the Corning Library within Holden Arboretum. They’re available to lend at our Main Branch.
The year 2019 may be in the books. But there’s always something new at Mentor Public Library, so check us out! As always, it’s a pleasure and privilege to be your destination for information.
