Our branch on Mentor Avenue will be closed to the public for four days while its parking lot is repaved, starting Monday, Aug. 15. Weather permitting, the branch is expected to reopen Friday, Aug. 19.

Our three other branches – Mentor-on-the-Lake and Headlands, as well as The HUB inside Mentor High School – will be open their regular hours. Reference librarians at the Main Library will also be able to assist patrons by phone during its regular hours.

During the branch’s closure, patrons will still be able to pick up their holds at our Headlands or Lake Branches and the hold lockers outside of Mentor High School. Items on hold at all our locations will be automatically extended, as will due dates for all Mentor Public Library items.

If patrons wish, they may return library items at our Lake and Headlands Branches. Fragile items that cannot be left in the dropoff box (like HotSpots, binoculars or ukuleles) can be returned at one of our other locations.

Due to the small size of the lot, we’re closing our Mentor Avenue location during the paving out of concern for patrons’ safety and to avoid potential damage to their vehicles. Though the lot has been maintained over the years, because of its age, it now requires more than a sealcoating.
