Get on the bus.

Get on the bus.

Want to help the environment? Get out and about? Save money on gas?

You can do all that with LaketranLake County’s public transit system.

Our Main Branch is hosting two programs in June – one for kids and one for adults – where people can learn about Laketran.

First, we’re holding a pair of story times inside a Laketran bus at 11 and 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4. This special story time is for kids (ages three to five) along with a parent.

Next, adults can attend Travel Training at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 10. Travel Training provides instruction for anyone who would like to learn more about riding Laketran, including how to read bus schedules, plan a trip, pay a fare, or use Laketran’s mobile app.

Both the story times and Travel Training are free to attend. But registration is required for either. You can sign up online or call us at (440) 255-8811.

Finally, Mentor Public Library is participating in the Libraries Along Laketran program this summer. Laketran and participating libraries will give away “passports.” If someone visits and gets a stamp at all six of the participating libraries along Laketran’s local routes, they will be entered into the grand prize drawing for a chance to win a free bicycle to encourage environmentally friendly transportation
