We’re hosting a film screening so big we need to spread it over two nights!

We’ll screen the Academy Award-nominated movie Killers of the Flower Moon beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at our Lake Branch. The second part of film will screen at 6:30 p.m. the next day at the Lake Branch.

The hit movie is directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone and Robert De Niro.

It’s based on David Grann’s bestselling book, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. Both the book and film were inspired by the true story of a series of murders targeting members of the Osage Nation after oil was discovered on their tribal land. A corrupt local politician sought to profit from the oil even though tribal members had retained mineral rights on their reservation.
