We host a quartet of clubs for kids at our Main Branch. Their interests range from reading to art to travel, and they’re all free to join!
The Book-to-Movie Club celebrates classic children’s books and the movies they inspire. Each month, they read a section from the book, watch a snippet of the film, and enjoy related activities. Their next meeting is 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6. The selected story is Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling. It’s open to kids from ages eight to 12. Click here to register for the Book-to-Movie Club.
The Fine Arts Club uses history and hands-on experiences to explore different art forms and styles. The children in this culture club have tried everything from ballet to graffiti. Their next meeting is 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan.7, and they’ll learn about tap dancing. It’s open to kids from ages seven to 12. Click here to sign up for the Fine Arts Club.
The library’s new Bingo Club is for kids from ages seven to 12. Each month, the kids play bingo with a different theme and the winners receive prizes. The first club meeting is 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16. Click here to sign up for the Bingo Club. Registration open on Jan. 2.
Finally, the library’s Travel Club celebrates a different state each month. Every month, the kids (ages six to 12) enjoy crafts, activities and a snack inspired by a certain state. They’ll also collect a pin from that state. The next meeting is at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5. Click here to sign up for the Travel Club. Registration opens Jan. 8.
All of these clubs are free to join. Due to limited space, registration is required. You can also sign up for these clubs by calling the library at 440-255-8811 ext. 3.
