Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day early by learning the story behind one of Cleveland’s most colorful corners during a free program at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 10, at our Main Branch.

Doug Kusak, a historical interpreter from Cleveland Metroparks, will discuss the history of Irishtown Bend. The bend is now part of the Flats on the west bank of the Cuyahoga River. It became an enclave for those of Irish descent in the early 19th century and grew quickly during the Great Irish Famine.

Discover more during Kusak’s talk. It’s free to attend. Due to limited space, registration is required. Click here to sign up for the Irishtown Bend program or call the library at 440-255-8811 ext. 1.
