Families can receive expert advice from experienced educators during a free program about early literacy for young children at noon on Thursday, Jan. 23, at our Main Branch.
The Educational Service Center of the Western Reserve will:
- share research about reading
- look at the important role a child’s home life can have in their learning how to read
- share and discuss clips from the documentary The Right to Read.
This program is open to parents and other family members of children who are starting their reading journey, as well as caregivers and anyone who wants to support early literacy.
This session is the first in a series from the Education Service Center of the Western Reserve. It’s designed to strengthen the partnership between schools and families. Each session provides valuable tools and strategies to support student success.
The topic for the second session is bullying, and it will be 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, at our Main Branch.
The third session will discuss chronic absenteeism at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb 20, at our Main Branch.
