String the stars and cross-stitch the constellations!
We’re hosting a pair of programs in June where teens can craft constellations at Mentor Public Library.
First, teens (12 to 18 years old) can cross-stitch something stellar at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 10, at The HUB inside of Mentor High School. You can learn basic cross-stitch and embroidery techniques while creating an out-of-this-world masterpiece for your room.
Then, teens can use the stars as inspiration when they make constellation string art at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, our Main Branch.
It’s free to participate in both of these programs, and we’ll supply all the materials. We only require that you RSVP. You can register online or call us at (440) 255-8811 ext. 247.
By the way, if you haven’t checked out our newest branch, The HUB inside Mentor High School, this summer is the perfect time
There’s never been a better opportunity to use The HUB’s state-of-the-art makerspace. Starting Monday, June 3, we’re expanding The HUB’s hours to noon to 8 p.m. on Monday through Thursday.
The HUB’s makerspace has a green-screen studio (complete with camera and editing equipment,) laser engraver, vinyl cutter, T-shirt press, large format printer, spiral binder, button maker, 3D pens, sticker printer, and mini-laminator.
People can use any or all of these machines to make the project of their dreams. They don’t need to be a student at Mentor High School or even a resident of Mentor. All they need is a CLEVNET card in good standing. Click here for more details or to make a reservation.
