Discover the history and mystery of one of the most astonishing shipwrecks discovered in the Great Lakes during a free program at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, at our Main Branch.

The Cornelia B. Windiate went missing in December, 1875, and supposedly sank in Lake Michigan. So it surprised many when it was discovered at the bottom of Lake Huron in 1986. Despite more than a century passing, Cornelia B. Windiate was remarkably intact with its masts still standing and cargo still secure.

Kevin Magee, co-founder of the Cleveland Underwater Explorers, will share more about the vessel and its history. His talk is open to all. Due to limited space, registration is required. Click here to sign up for the Cornelia B. Windiate program or call us at 440-255-8811 ext. 1.
