Explore the world of college admissions during a free author talk from Mentor Public Library.
Bestselling writer Jeff Selingo immersed himself into the admissions process for a year. He followed high-school seniors, as well as marketers, financial-aid consultants, and the people who rank colleges. He used his research to write Who Gets In and Why: A Year Inside College Admissions.
Selingo will discuss his experience during an online author talk at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30. He’ll explain how the pandemic impacted admissions, dispel notions of how to win at the admissions game, and reveal why families can benefit by broadening their notion of what qualifies as a good college.
In addition to being a writer, Selingo is also a regular contributor to The Atlantic and cohost of the podcast, FutureU. His talk is free to enjoy and will be hosted online. Sign up to attend here. A recording of the program will be available to watch afterward.
