Kids can customize their own bookends on Wednesday, July 10, at Mentor Public Library’s Main Branch.

Kids can decorate their own bookends during a fun program at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, on our Main Branch lawn.

It’s the perfect project for children who like to make a mess and those who’d rather tidy up. The mess-makers will have a blast customizing their craft, and the tidy-ers will love having a bookend to keep their personal library organized.

The program is free but we do ask that you register beforehand. You can sign up online or call us at (440) 255-8811 ext. 221.

By the way, this year’s Summer Reading theme is A Universe of Stories, so we’re offering programs that will leave stars in your eyes.

We’re hosting Marvelous Mondays at 1 p.m. each Monday through July 22 on the lawn of our Read House. Each week the we’ll offer different games, crafts and activities that tie into space, planets and even aliens. Then, families can come to Freaky Fridays at 11 a.m. each Friday at our Lake Branch. Every week, we’ll have stellar activities for kids. No registration is required to attend Marvelous Mondays or Freaky Fridays.

And that’s just a smattering of the dozens of programs we’re offering this summer. They are free to attend, though some require registration. To sign up, call us at any of our branches.

Finally, everyone – kids, teens and adults – has a chance to win prizes when they participate Mentor Public Library’s Summer Reading program. The more people read and the more programs they attend, the better chance they have of winning.
