Celebrate a certain caterpillar’s semicentennial this June at Mentor Public Library.

This June, Eric Carle’s beloved picture book The Very Hungry Caterpillar turns 50 years old.

That’s right! We’ve been enjoying a caterpillar’s very busy month for nearly half of a century. And we’re hosting a pair of programs at Mentor Public Library to celebrate the book’s semicentennial.

First, we’ll celebrate with crafts and a story at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 3, at our Lake Branch.

Then, we’ll have a special obstacle course at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, at our Main Branch. Kids (ages three to eight) will help their caterpillar through our course and get a tasty treat at the end.

Both programs are free to attend, but we do ask that families register beforehand. You can sign up online on our event calendar or call us.
